Making Room!

As everyone knows, our casa only has one bedroom. Ever since we bought the "outfit" Kyle and I have been planning on adding on. Kyle and I accepted a bid from a contractor from Talala, OK today. The contractor will be able to get started on the addition right away. Once we're all finished we'll have a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom home. Yeah! Plenty of room for family and friends.
I'm really glad to get this project started, especially with Holden and Chuck coming down for school in about a month. They might have to snuggle in the living room for a couple of weeks, but hopefully they'll be able to move into their own rooms soon after.
Gus is doing good and is enjoying Grandma's visit. Gus and Grandma have been nothing but bums this week. Everytime I've called to check up on them, they've been in bed sleeping.

Welcome

With Kyle and I living so far away from family, I decided that I needed to find a way to keep everyone updated with our fast paced life.
For those of you who don't know, Kyle and I just moved south of Nowata, Oklahoma to a place that filled all of our wants and needs.  We moved into our new "Outfit" on June 4th.  The "Outfit" has 56 acres, 3 ponds, and a lighted arena!
We've been busy unpacking boxes, organizing the barn, and getting horses rode.  Kyle and I both have friends from college that live in the area including the Peverly family.  Kyle college rodeo'd with their oldest son Ty and I went to college with their daughter Jenny.  Their youngest son Clint is a handful but reminds me of a good friend growing up (Mitch Barney).  The whole family has taken us under their wing from helping unload Kyle's pool table to keeping us informed of every roping and rodeo in the country.
Most of my family have already made the drive down from Iowa to see the "outfit."  Mom had planned on making the drive down by herself this summer, but with her back problems she's going to have to prolong her goal.
With us having 56 acres, a tractor was a must.  Thankfully Dad was able to stop and take a look at a tractor for us on his way down.  Kyle's parents have been very helpful with the tractor accessories.  I'm not sure Kyle has ever quit bush hogging since we moved in!
We want to remind everyone that our home is always open to friends and family.  Our new address is Kyle & Missy Whitfield

Happy Trails!
